I think all doors should be pocket doors to save floor space. This is a great idea that could be incorporated in other rooms as well. The laundry, play room, bed rooms. The top and bottom of stairs. I would go father and put another on the top making there's Dutch doors, where you could close off the top to. Make sure you can lock the does together to use seperatly or as one.
