Here is a close up view of the Chanel Couture top. Its interesting to note the weight of the fabric, the heavy woven tweed wouldn't seem to be comfortable so close to the body. Perhaps this garment was constructed on top of a corset, giving it its shape, allowing it to stay upright and so close to the body, as well attaching the top of the garment and giving it that overhang look.
