Melanopareia maximiliani, Olive-crowned Crescentchest, family Melanopareiidae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay in thick grassy hillsides and Polylepis forest in the high Andes. It prefers thorn forest with dense understory. The olive-crowned crescentchest usually forages alone, but sometimes in pairs, by hopping through dense cover on or near the ground. Its diet has not been recorded. Song an evenly pitched series of metallic or dry notes.
