The hardwood that is produced from Acacia Trees is excellent for building long-lasting pieces of furniture and homewares for home and offices. It's durable, water-resistant and highly-resistant to fungus. Building live edge dining tables and coffee tables with solid acacia wood makes for a high quality end product. Aside from its hardness and durability, the low moisture content of this type of wood significantly reduces the possibility of warping and shrinking that normally occurs in natural wood products.  OUR PROCESS All our acacia wood slabs are sustainably-sourced and we regularly participate in local forest plantation programs. We carefully select each slab and choose only those with unique rare grain pattern. Selected slabs undergo air drying to stabilize inner grain structure. After two (2) months of air drying, we place them in a dehumidifier kiln for six (6) weeks to reach 14% moisture content on the inside and on the surface of the wood. However, please be aware that even a perfectly dried wood slab still behaves like a live organism, "breathing" in and out moisture depending on your home's indoor setting. If the environment is too dry, the tabletop may produce small cracks. These are normal processes that slabs go through since they are natural products and it is important that you are aware of these realities. As a means of prevention, it is highly-recommended to use oil-based wood care products to moisturize the wood and avoid placing handmade wooden furniture next to fire places or heating devices. Truth is, small cracks add more character to your tabletop and gives it its unique, rustic value. We do not use plane for leveling slabs but only industrial CNC router machine to obtain extra flattened surface which is a crucial point during the finishing process. All our oils and beeswax are ecologically friendly and our epoxy resin is food grade. PLEASE NOTE: All of our tables are shipped from Thailand by sea or air.
