This antique hand carved Black Forest ink stand was made about 1900. These Black Forest carvings were keepsakes for travellers going on the Grand Tour of Europe. This piece has great detail in the carving, original bead eyes and even the original glass ink bottle. He has a mellow patina from years of use and a few minor ink stains to his body. The hinge is in good order. He stands 3.25 inches tall and about 2.25 inches wide.
