We're switching from curtains to blinds in our kitchen, and currently have empty windows with the curtain rails still in place. I won't have time to put up blinds until after Christmas, so in the meantime I've made a snowflake curtain! Dozens of paper snowflakes, cut from circles of white paper and threaded in garlands using a sewing needle and white thread ... I then tied them onto the curtain rail hooks, so they can be moved along the rail (carefully!) to let more light in during the day…
