Taken in early September at the cottage in Val-des-monts, Quebec, Canada. I was in mushroom photography/macro mode, and there was no shortage of subjects! I do not know the species, but the top was about 4 inches across, flat, with a pale washed-out pink colouring...and oozing slime. Canon 40D + Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 lens @45mm + 20mm extetion tube, aperture priority. evaluative metering, 1/13s., f/18, ISO 800, -0.3 EC.
