This red stoneware is tricker to finish to a ‘high’ degree, what I mean by that is achieving delicate lines that aren’t packed with grog or are torn up can be tricky, which means I have to approach doing this differently from how I normally might. Altering a moon jar! This is my first attempt at altering the moon jar form. I used a compass to draw a large circle on the side of the pot and then carefully cut it out. After scoring the edges and attaching, it took a lot of smoothing and blending, but i think it’s turned out really nicely.
