Sea cucumbers are the less glamorous cousins of starfish and sea urchins, occurring in all of the major oceans and seas. As a delicacy in many Asian cultures, they are appreciated for their soft texture, dietary and medicinal properties.

At about 18 meters below the surface of the water in Thailand, I found this fellow. My critter book tells me he is supposed to be brown to tan in color; I guess no one told him.
