Painted silos

The silo was painted in 2018 by NYC street artist known only as Fumero. The front of the mural shows historic scenes of the distillery and area. Around that scene and on the back side of the silo, the mural morphs into a colorful, amorphous abstract painting style the artist calls 'Fumeroism'. The distillery is located in the hamlet of Gardiner, Ulster County, New York about 85 miles north of New York City. 41°41'14.2"N 74°10'34.4"W​

The silos were built around 1952 for storage of animal feed by white farmers. The farm was taken over by the government in 1975. The silos were painted in about 2011 by local artists. Tony Stafki is a Minnesota muralist painted the mural in August and September 2020. Tony started out in software engineering and painting building interiors. Then about 13 years ago he made the jump to full-time muralist. At the top is a cow grazing in a farm pasture, a call back to farm’s roots in 1969. The bottom of the mural features dairy products such as ice cream, cottage cheese, yogurt and of course a geyser of milk splashing across the silo. 44°53'06.5"N 94°18'27.2"W
