This illustration of a mountaintop fortress was created to add flavor to the 5th edition release of the roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons.

Based on an Art Test by Wizards Of The Coast, the Monastery of Kelemvor is my take on what they asked. A monastery with no wood where the monks work on saving travelers and defending the helpless. Pretty neat assignment from my point of view. I hope they liked as much as I did.
