I’ve added the final touches to this apple orchard! There are a lot of elements in this piece that remind me of the acreage I grew up on. The barn, the dirt paths around the yard, the dugout surrounded by trees, the highway, and the large fields beside our place. My family always said I was a city girl stuck in a small town. But now that I’m constantly surrounded by hustle and bustle, and cars and large buildings, I often miss nature fully surrounding me. I love the city and the opportunity ... This 12" finished embroidery hoop was hand stitched with cotton and metallic floss, and embellished with various beads on black canvas cloth by Eden Ingle of Starling Co.
