THE DETAILS:

1 - Start with a very dark charcoal drawing and DO NOT spray it with fixative. You want the dark, flaky, unstable charcoal to stick to the plate. I’m using a 16 x 20 inch @gelliarts plate in the reel. You can use any size.
I haven’t yet tried this with pastel. I’m imagining it would work but I wanted something very dark to maximize impact.

2 - I used newsprint for the charcoal drawing and to lift the transfer off the plate. I haven’t yet experimented with other papers.
