Pupil dilation

Dilation of the pupil is used to examine the internal structure of the eye. Recovery usually takes a few hours but can sometimes take days.

Dilated pupils (mydriasis) are naturally caused by changes in light. They can also be a response to emotional factors, a result of a traumatic injury or a reaction to eye drops, drugs or medication.
