FREE eCourse at fertilitycharting.com.au YOUR CERVIX IS A BIOLOGICAL VALVE It softens, opens and rises higher around the time of ovulation to create an easy passageway for sperm. After ovulation has passed, it rapidly closes, hardens and drops lower into the vaginal canal. The valve is closed and sperm can no longer enter. Firmness: Softly touch the cervix; when firm it will feel like the tip of your nose or chin. When soft it will feel more like the texture of your lips.
