A barn at sunset on the Palouse, a few weeks ago. Just hadn't got to processing it yet... :)

Lovely and vibrant even as they fall into disrepair, these Idaho barns embrace the character and charm of yesteryear with every rusted nail.

My first reaction with this image - taken on a cold foggy day - was to convert to black and white, but realized that an important part of the image would be missing or at least under-emphasized. I looked at the unfinished paint job on this old structure and started wondering what the story was behind it. It may have had to do with the lack of a long enough ladder or if the painter was like me, it had to do with the fear of heights. I don't know the real story, but I wonder.
