Burnham Hotel
Burnham Hotel: One of the original steel-framed skyscrapers, the Reliance Building (now the Burnham Hotel) set the stage for the next century of modern steel and glass high-rise construction. The building was designed by Daniel Burnham and John Wellborn Root, and when Root died, Charles Atwood helped complete the building which opened in 1895. By Bob Segal
