Lacing boards: made these out of cedar so not only are they lovely to look at and to hold but they smell amazing. I made them all different, some using different sized screw eyes, some in a single row and some in a double. There is a screw eye on the end where one end of the lace is tied so you never loose the lace!

Busy Boards - Easy to make and would be a great gift for a little one!.....I need to do this. Ben loves the one at the Dr's office

Sand or salt trays are easy to make, and are often shown for letter practice, but can also be used to develop pre-writing skills when paired with cards for simple shapes and lines. Simply gently shake or rake to start on the next drawing.
