Beautiful Century
Lucy Gray became the first LAPD Police Matron in 1888. Tiny in stature, weighing a scant 100 pounds, Gray was remarkably successful in reforming female offenders and preventing juvenile delinquency. She voluntarily established her living quarters within the City Jail where she enlisted her skills as a nurse. Department records also refer to her as a detective. I don't have a real picture of Lucy, so, in honor of Anna, I thought I'd make her a hotty. "The Secret Life of Anna Blanc."
