Blissfully Sweet - Pretty Pastels Princess Castle 1st Birthday Cake To be a princess and live in a magical castle with pastel bricks and lots of turret towers - now that would be nice indeed! Princess Kerry turned 1 over the weekend and yesterday she celebrated in right royal style at The Play Cave in Miranda. To make her birthday extra special, a pastel magical castle cake was needed. Kerry's lovely mum asked for a beautiful castle cake for her daughter and in some pastel pinks and lilacs to match her colour scheme and invite. So castle cake was a given and a lovely way to incorporate the pastel colours was in the brick work of the castle and I decided to watercolour paint them in different shades of pink and lilac and also regal gold - because it is royalty after all. Turret towers were added as well as a gold bordered name plaque and a very sweet white wash faux wood door. All I ask is one night ….. just one night to wake up as a princess in a magical castle ……… #agirlcandream The cake was lemon coconut raspberry cake and also vanilla/chocolate marble cake. There was a multitude of cupcakes that accompanied the cake in a beautiful pastel watercolour to match the colour scheme and invites. Happy 1st Birthday Princess Kerry. x | Facebook

Sara Elizabeth Cakes - This was an extra special cake, made for a one-year-old cancer survivor! Through the wonderful organization Icing Smiles, Inc., I was privileged to be able to donate this cake to a delightful, resilient little girl. Her family's motto is "Fight like Jaycee!" :) Happy Birthday, and congratulations on your incredible victory, Jaycee! This cake was so much fun! Just about gave me a heart attack, structurally, but lessons were learned, and I was still tickled pink at the outcome! Want to try to make this cake yourself? McGreevy Cakes has a phenomenal free tutorial on how to make this amazing castle cake: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-PsQjihR2m8 Note: from my experience, each turret placed on the cake itself needs a support mechanism under it, in the cake below. This is not shown in her video. Good luck! | Facebook
