~ Equus ~ Iberian & Baroque ~

Iberian horses have been highly valued since the Classical Age, and only Arabians have influenced more modern breeds. The Baroques were developed by breeding Iberians to Barbs and Neapolitans, as well as to destrier and Frizian warhorses. Originating in the Middle Ages, Baroques were refined in the Renaissance. All are compact and built for maximum collection ~ combining powerful hindquarters, short backs, good bone, muscular necks. Famously lush manes & tails, classic beauty, and disciplined intelligence are a hallmark.

Absolutely amazing at over 20 years old, Pura Raza Española stud, Dulzon IX , of Yeguada La Peña de Béjar. He is a very sooty buckskin. Buckskin is not common in the breed.
