Written on the body - a tribute to the surface - Unfold Design Studio
UNFOLD design (BE), WRITTEN ON THE BODY -- Unfolding a digital 3D body scan into a pattern and using this pattern to make personal jewels in different materials: silver (arm), porcelain (neck) and leather (belly). The model, consisting of triangular surfaces, gives the jewelry a nearly perfectly fitting form, truly made for the wearer. This project was nominated for the René Smeets Prize by the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2002.
This design is ideal when there is an age difference of at least five years between siblings. Two sisters, a six-year-old and baby, share this room. The specially designed crib is set low to the ground to maximize space beneath the bottom of the loft and access to the child in the crib. The bunk bed features a landing that slows a child as he or she moves up and down the stairs for added safety.
