this is my exact piece I refinished in my dining room. I like the lamp idea, just not big ones like that. (and mine isn't missing a handle on the door)

Lovely painted buffet found in antique store today. Dark, almost navy, blue (darker than the photo) felt like chalk paint, and top was a dark, almost black, rubbed on stain or paint/stain combo. Inside reveals it is an old mahogany dresser or buffet. Picture doesn't do it justice, actual item would make quite a room statement
